Like many others, the UIAA Alumni Career Center has declared a snow day. If you wish to stay engaged with your career transition and don't want to get caught up in the soap operas, here is a Snow Day Activity for you.

Random UIAA Virtual Career Center (VCC) Activity

1. What day of the month were you born on?

JB: I was both on the 21st of May, so I will use "21".

2. Go to the VCC Subject Index and count down the list of topics until you get to a highlighted topic that coincides with your number.

JB: My number is 21 and the 21st topic is "Career marketing plan".

A. If you have already registered with the VCC, go to that topic. Read through the content, do the exercises, and go to the recommended web sites. Even if it is a topic you know, you may learn something new or refresh old lessons.

B. Alternatively, if you haven't registered with the VCC and had your alumni status verified by staff, pick your topic and...
1. Register now and we will verify your alumni status when we can dust off our cars and get back to the office.
2. Google the topic to see what you can find
3. Go to a career related book on your shelf and see how they cover the topic

JB: "Career marketing plan" exercises always remind me to focus on the future, where I want to be and how to position myself to get there.
