Some companies will occasionally host an open house for candidates to attend and learn about various employment opportunities. These events are a great place to meet staff at the firm, as well as, learn more about the organization and its culture. However, they may blow your cover if you happen to run into a coworker or even worse, your boss at your current employer. If you are interested in attending but concerned about jeopardizing your job with your current employer, contact the company to let them know of your concern. They might request for a copy of your resume and invite you in for a private meeting or interview.
