An Alumna Asks About Eligibility

A ’91 UIC Alumna asked, "Am I allowed to enroll in a series of courses for the sake of learning only - I'm not looking to obtain an additional degree. For example, I'd like to enroll in some technology courses."

UIAA ACC Answer: The answer to your question depends on the eligibility requirements for the class. Some require enrollment in a degree granting program while others do not. You can usually review eligibility requirements in the same online or print directory where the class is listed. If you cannot find this information or find it confusing, you can check with the department hosting the course.

If you have trouble finding open enrollment classes, check with networking contacts in related fields. They may be able to suggest different options.
