Lorber named UIS vice chancellor for development and senior vice president of UI Foundation
In his new positions, Jeff Lorber will work closely with UIS Chancellor Susan Koch and UIF President Sidney Micek in developing and managing fundraising plans, priorities and activities at UIS. “We had many excellent candidates, and he emerged as the right choice – at the right time – as we move forward,” says Koch.

Distinguished alumni to be honored by Alumni Association  
Five UIS alumni have been selected by fellow graduates to be honored throughout the year by the University of Illinois Alumni Association. Honorees include Fred Parsons ’81 CBM, Alumni Achievement Award; Randall F. Witter, MPA ’82, Distinguished Service Award; the late Ahbee Staab Robinson ’74 LAS, MA ’76 EHS, Alumni Humanitarian Award; and Bill Furry ’85 LAS, MA ’97 LAS, and Barbara Stuemke Burkhardt ’84 (UIUC), MA ’90 LAS, PHD ’94 (UIUC), recipients of the Loyalty Award for Exceptional Alumni Service.

The difference a gift makes
In May 2011, the PNC Foundation awarded its first Grow Up Great grant in the Springfield area to Sangamon Auditorium. The three-year, $90,000 grant was intended to enhance the performing arts experiences of 600 Springfield Urban League Head Start students. A year into the three-year grant, the PNC’s gift is making an impact.
