Illini place second in nation after 4-1 loss to Tide
The Illini men’s golf team finished second at the NCAA Championships on June 2 – the program’s best finish ever. Alabama bested the Fighting Illini 4-1. “You could tell Alabama had an edge to them today,” said head coach Mike Small after the match. Illinois’ finish is the highest by a northern school at the NCAA Championships since Minnesota won the title in 2002.

Fighting Illini Caravan
The annual Fighting Illini Caravan will visit locations across the state of Illinois and in St. Louis throughout the month of May. On board will be director of athletics Mike Thomas, football coach Tim Beckman, men's basketball coach John Groce and women's basketball coach Matt Bollant, as well as other Illini coaches and student-athletes. Appearances and community service visits in each city will be followed by a reception where fans can meet and talk with Caravan members.
