Smooth Sailing Cruising along China’s Lijiang River amidst the mountains of Guilin -- wearing their bright orange Illinois shirts --- are Rosie Kwoh Johnson ’72 LAS and her husband, Edward Johnson ’70 LAS, with her brother C. Kent Kwoh ’75 LAS, MD ’79 (UIC), and his spouse, Nancy Benjamin Kwoh, MMUS ’76. Ten years of planning the family trip to China also involved nearly a dozen other relatives and visits to Beijing, the Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an, the World War II Massacre Memorial of Nanjing and the Grand Canal in Shanghai.
