African Journey Pictured in his orange and blue Illini cap and Illinois T-shirt, James C. Day ’83 ENG sits among schoolchildren in a classroom in Ethiopia. Inspired by Martin Luther King's sermon on the "Good Samaritan," Day decided to travel to Africa, where he worked with the organization Chad-Et and hung out with some of the kids he encountered. Day said his education at Illinois was “one of the greatest blessings” of his life.
