Math Meets Music

Join fellow alumni, faculty, and friends for a fascinating afternoon filled with musical entertainment, an interesting program, food and beverages, and enjoyable conversations.

We’ll begin with a reception and musical performance. After lunch, Associate Dean and Professor Matt Ando and Professor Steve Taylor will illustrate a dynamic relationship presenting how music is scientific and mathematical in nature and structure. For a special treat, they’ll showcase rare and unusual instruments seldom seen in public.

You’ll be among the first to witness the performance of the university’s 150th tribute song by composer, theory professor, and Guggenheim winner Steven Taylor. We’ll end the event with the dessert, coffee, and the opportunity to converse with Professors Ando and Taylor and other distinguished faculty.

We hope to see you on Saturday, Nov. 4, for an afternoon of music and friendship.
