Dear fellow Illini,

Almost 25 years ago, during my tenure as president of the Alumni Association, I coaxed the legendary Dan Perrino, ’48, ’49 out of his second retirement to initiate the Senior Illini program. I had a vision for continuing to engage our seasoned alumni with our Alma Mater in a meaningful capacity. Dan accepted the challenge and built a program unlike any other in the country.

What goes around, comes around. In July 2017 my successor Jen Neubauer, ’82 asked me to come out of retirement to revive our Senior Alumni program. I’m thrilled to be back home and practicing the profession I love. The past year has been such a rewarding time, and I’ve found our Illini family still looking for ways to engage and learn.
