Illinois Director of Athletics Josh Whitman is in his ninth year at the helm of the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics and is coming off a 2023-24 season that saw men’s basketball, men’s gymnastics and women’s indoor track win Big Ten team championships, women’s basketball win the WBIT championship and two individuals claim NCAA individual championships. A former Illini football letterwinner and two-time Illinois graduate (BUS ’01, JD ’08), Whitman has exhibited strong leadership amid many transformational changes in the landscape of college athletics. In this session, Whitman will discuss these changes and how the Fighting Illini are positioned to succeed.
