April 24 Graz, Austria

After landing at Graz Airport, an AHI Travel representative will meet you for your transfer to Hotel Weitzer. This evening, meet your fellow travelers for a Welcome Reception and Dinner at the hotel.

April 25 Graz

In the UNESCO World Hertiage city and official culinary capital of Austria, you’ll be awed by Graz’s dramatic baroque and medieval architecture. After learning about the unique history and traditions of Graz from a local expert, take a guided walking tour through the old town to see notable landmarks, some dating to 10th century! During free time, take lunch at leisure and explore this walkable city. Later, rejoin your group for a special dinner in one of Graz’ traditional Styrian restaurants.

April 26 Eastern Styria

Today, you’ll venture to the lush region of Eastern Styria, known for its ham, chocolate and wine. First, take a guided tour of the Riegersburg Castle, Austria’s largest castle enthroned upon a dormant volacano. Next, visit a Vulcano farm to taste the superior ham and cheeses during a traditional jausenteller lunch, followed by a visit to premier chocolatier to sample the finest Austrian chocolate. Return to Salzburg and choose your own spot for authentic Austrian cuisine.

April 27 Western Styria

Another day in the countryside takes you to the bucolic western portion of Styria, known as “Styrian Tuscany” for its distinctive hills, valleys, wine and culture. Today’s highlights include a guided tour of the iconic Lipizzaner stud farm to see the majestic white stallions, a wine tasting lunch at a rustic inn-like buschenschank, and a special farm visit to learn about and sample the famed Styrian pumpkin seed oil. Enjoy your last dinner in Graz at leisure.

April 28 Hallstatt | Salzburg

It’s on to to Salzburg today with a stop en route at Hallstatt’s picturesque alpine village. Stroll cobblestone streets through the storybook market square on a guided tour. Find a quaint café for lunch at leisure and perhaps do some artisan shopping, before rejoining your group for a breathtaking scenic cruise on Lake Hallstatt. After marveling at the Austrian Alps, check in at Imlauer Hotel Pitter Salzburg, relax and explore the area for dinner on your own in Salzburg.

April 29 Salzburg

Guided by an ancestor of the Von Trapp family, embark on historic bus and walking tour to see iconic filming sites of the musical, including the gazebo, where Liesl and Rolf sang “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” the lake and alps district, and Mirabell Garden, scene of the famous “Do-Re-Mi” song. Continue on a guided tour through baroque Salzburg while learning about composer Mozart and seeing some of the notable landmarks of his life. Marvel at the baroque beauty of Salzburg’s architecture throughout the historic district before visiting the Hohensalzburg Fortress with its bird’s-eye view. Tonight, relish an unforgettable Mozart concert and authentic Austrian dinner in a historic building.

April 30 Berchtesgaden, Germany | Bavarian Alps | Salzburg, Austria

Today, cross the border into Germany for an exciting day that takes you from the depths of a historic salt mine tour to the top of Mount Kehlstein for a panoramic view of the Bavarian Alps and visit to Hitler’s Eagles Nest. Enjoy lunch in traditional beer garden before returning to Salzburg to explore, perhaps taking a walk through the nearby Mirabell Gardens or a visit to one of the two Mozart museums before finding dinner on your own.

May 1 Salzburg

Today, craft your own itinerary to explore more of wonderful Salzburg! Tonight, say “So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night,” to your fellow travelers during a Farewell Reception and Dinner at the hotel.

May 2 Depart for home city

Bid farewell to your fellow travelers and depart for the airport for your flights home.
