March 17 Fakarava, French Polynesia

Home to the second-largest lagoon in the Tuamotu Atolls, Fakarava boasts a unique marine ecosystem and quiet sandy shores. Visit the nineteenth-century Tuamotu church, built entirely out of coral, see the Topaka Lighthouse, or look for manta rays as you snorkel in the lagoon.

Rangiroa, one of the largest atolls in the world, is a natural aquarium. Its central lagoon is massive, and it’s filled with vibrant marine life. Dolphins frequent navigable passes into the interior lagoon and local pearl farms produce fantastic specimens. Elsewhere on the atoll, enjoy restaurants, stores, and an award winning winery.

March 22 Bora Bora, French Polynesia

Slow down on the beaches of Bora Bora, renowned for its crystal clear waters and blossoming coral reef gardens. Perhaps tour the glittering lagoon, where you can see stingrays and black-tip reef sharks, or snorkel among the 800 species of fish and the colorful reef. With its stilted bungalows and the dormant Mt.
Otemanu volcano resting in the center of the island, Bora Bora is enchanting.

An important archaeological site and the second-largest island of the Society Islands archipelago, Raiatea is dotted with vanilla plantations and rich with fascinating history and mythology.
