Former Fighting Illini tennis player medals in Rio

(UI Athletics photo) Jack Sock and Bethanie Mattek-Sands may have won gold in the all-American mixed doubles final at the 2016 Olympic Games, but Venus Williams and her first-time partner, former Fighting Illini tennis player Rajeev Ram, ’03 ATTENDEE, were pleased with their performance going into the match and no doubt after.
Williams and Ram lost 6-7, 6-1 (10-7) in the historic match-up and took home silver medals.
