Illini Replay: Rocky Harvey
Rocky Harvey (Image courtesy of UI Athletics) Illinois fans were hungry for postseason football heading into the 1999 season. That fall ended up marking the first Illini appearance in a bowl game in five years, as running back Rocky Harvey and his gridiron teammates turned in a memorable season capped by a romp over Virginia in the MicronPC.com Bowl. Illinois went 8–4, including upset road wins over Ohio State and a Michigan team led by Tom Brady. Harvey ran for 774 yards and seven touchdowns that fall en route to becoming one of Illinois’ top-five all-time leading rushers with 2,711 yards.
