The Big Picture: Me, My Selfie and “I”

Block I—in all its bright orange glory—invites students to share their Illini pride with the world while enjoying a warm spring day on the quad. The I pops up frequently on campus, especially in spots lending themselves to selfies and social media photo ops. The Division of Intercollegiate Athletics was the first office on campus to have one; Enrollment Management and the Illini Union soon followed. As a strong, silent ambassador, the Block I gins up spirit for the Fighting Illini, welcomes prospective students and enlivens events on campus and afar. It’s even been spotted at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport.
