Dr. Kelso died at Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia, from ptomaine poisoning. He had been at Fr. Oglethorpe, general hospital 14, for several months in charge of the medical department of the recruiting work for seven southern states. Earlier in the war he had been made first lieutenant in the medical reserve corps, stationed at Camp Forest, Chickamauga Park.
