Edward Forbes Greene

Lt. Greene died at Cambridge, MA, where he had been an instructor in the naval training class at Harvard. He was born at Kyoto, Japan, attended the University academy in 1899-1900, and four years later graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy. His services in the Navy extended to 1911, when he retired due to ill health. At the outbreak of World War I, he resumed service until his death. Lt. Greene was awarded a medal for his conspicuous work in connection with the Messina earthquake disaster. Activities at Harvard were suspended during his funeral.
