Captain Gimlin died of infantile paralysis in Manila, Philippine Islands. In the Army more than 3 1/2 years, he was serving with a Military Police platoon in the 38th Division. He had been stationed in Australia; New Guinea; and Luzon, Philippine Islands. He is buried at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles, Michigan.
