Mr. Brown was First Lieutenant and Assistant Engineer on the submarine Golet, lost since July, 1944 when the Golet failed to return after patrolling off Honshu, Japan. Commissioned in September, 1942, Lieutenant Brown served 8 months at Pearl Harbor after returning to the states in June, 1942 to attend submarine school.
