Mr. Boynton was a member of a bomber crew, 485th BG 831st, as a B-24 Nose Gunner. The plane was shot down by German ME 109’s over Munich, Bayern, Germany, on a mission to the Milbertshofen Ordnance Depot in Munich. Boynton was killed by 20MM cannon fire, some crew members were killed by civilians, other crew taken as POW’s.
