Graduate Dance Center

The Graduate Dance Center waltzed on to the South Quad in 2010, following two years of collaboration and sweat equity among graduate students of architecture, dance, and fine and applied arts. From a deteriorated agriculture lab, and at minimal cost, students fashioned media spaces, a lounge, computer stations, sculptural pieces and a studio with sprung floors into a rhythmic, integrated whole. The 5,000-square-foot facility also is environmentally minded, its finishes fashioned from reclaimed basketball flooring and donated barn wood.
