I’s on the World: Cruising the Nile

Oh, the places we go … University of Illinois alumni are globetrotters who travel near and far, but never forget their Alma Mater!

After traveling to Cairo to visit the great pyramids of Giza and the Egyptian Museum, Bob, ’78 LAS, and Gail Kamrath headed south with fellow UI alumni on a recent EXPLORERS tour of Egypt. Arriving in the ancient capital of Luxor, the group visited the Valley of the Kings before embarking on a cruise of the Nile River. “The cruise was a wonderful experience,” says Bob. “Gail especially enjoyed bargaining with the local merchants, who were selling their goods via a boat-to-boat exchange.” The Kamraths are pleased to share the experience with their fellow alumni. “One of the reasons we go on Illini EXPLORERS trips is because of the new friends we make,” says Bob.
