Architectural Halloween

It’s no trick. In fact, it’s spelled out in the Architecture 101 syllabus: “Create a Halloween costume that depicts architecture.” And so budding designers do, putting newly learned principles to work on fashion costumes inspired by buildings. Next comes the treat. Students model their garb in a program at Temple Hoyne Buell Hall, home to the graduate division of UI’s School of Architecture. Results have ranged from a hat modeled after Aus-tralia’s Sydney Opera House to a depiction of New York City’s Brooklyn Bridge.
