Welcoming Angela Chalberg Pool
Angela Chalberg Pool, ’94 BUS, MS ’95 BUS, joins the UIAA Board of Directors, excited to give back to her Alma Mater. “I love our mission to ‘inspire lifelong loyalty and pride,’” she says. “I will bring dedication, expanded networking and additional Illini spirit to the Board.”
Chalberg Pool, who resides in Geneva, Ill., is a tax partner at Ernst & Young (EY), and has worked most of her career in the firm’s Chicago office since 1995. (She also did a stint in EY’s Paris office from 1998 to 1999.)
In addition, she serves as treasurer of the International Cultural Exchange Committee of Geneva (Ill.) and is a member of the Chicago Finance Exchange, which strives to engage, enrich and empower executive women in finance.
At her Alma Mater, Chalberg Pool is a member of the Gies College of Business’ Accountancy External Advisory Board and the UIAA Committee for Student and Alumni Engagement. She also serves as treasurer of Alpha Delta Pi (ADPi) Sorority’s housing corporation, which is renovating the chapter’s historic house.
Chalberg Pool says one of her most cherished Illinois memories is when ADPi enlisted her future husband, Mark Pool, ’90 ENG, and his Triangle fraternity brothers to coach the pledge class flag-football team. The coaches named the team’s plays after various characters in “The Flintstones” cartoon. “‘Fred’ was a sweep and ‘Wilma’ was a reverse,” Chalberg Pool says. “Our team may not have won every game but we certainly had fun.”
