Second Lieutenant Reimer was a member of the 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while defending “Outpost Harry” in North Korea against an enemy attack on June 11, 1953. Second Lieutenant Reimer was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Korean War Service Medal.
