Lt. McClure served with the 400th Bomb Squadron, 90th Bomb Group, Heavy. He flew B-24D-Liberators; his plane was named “The Jolly Rogers.” He participated in bombing missions in Rabaul and Southwest Pacific. Lt. McClure is listed on the Tablets of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Manila, Philippines. He was killed in action on 12/19/1944; declared dead 12/19/1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
