Staff Sergeant was Missing in Action over Schweinfurt, Germany, since October 14, 1943, and declared dead as of August 14, 1945. He was a rear gunner on a B-17 and was lost in an 8th Air Force raid over Schweinfurt’s roller bearing plants. He had been in active duty overseas for about six months and held the Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters.
