Oh, the places we go … University of Illinois alumni are globetrotters who travel near and far, but never forget their Alma Mater!

Wearing an Illini cap, a smiling Andrea Darlas, ’94 MEDIA, poses in the mid-September sunshine in front of the Parthenon, constructed in 447 B.C. during the Athenian Empire and dedicated to the goddess Athena. A radio and television news anchor and reporter at WGN Radio and WGN-TV, Darlas visited Greece with a group of 35 radio listeners, many of whom were Illini. During their 10-day tour, they visited such Greek cities and towns as Nafplio, Olympus, Kyllini, Arcadia and Santorini. In addition to being an award-winning journalist—she’s a two-time recipient of the prestigious Peter Lisagor Award—Darlas serves as a member of the University of Illinois Alumni Association Board of Directors and on the UI College of Media’s National Alumni Board.
