Tesla hires Illinois grad as new vice president of autopilot efforts

Chris Lattner, MS ’02 ENG, PHD ’05 ENG, is heading up Autopilot efforts at Tesla. The Engineering grad worked at Apple for 11 years where his chief contribution was creating Swift, Apple’s most recent programming language.
