“We truly appreciated the re-establishment of the downtown areas in Krakow and Warsaw,” says Greg Cargill, ’71 ENG, of the recent trip he and several Illini took to the Czech Republic and Poland in October. Krakow in particular has undergone significant redevelopment in preparation of hosting the 2023 European Games. Joining Cargill were his wife, Kathryn, ’74 FAA; Jeff Davey, EDM ’82, MBA ’93; Patrice Metoyer, ’84 LAS; Dr. Mary L. Olsen, ’78 LAS; and Paula Schumacher, ’76 MEDIA. The group booked its excursion through the UIAA Explorers program, which allows alumni and friends to travel the world with like-minded travelers in carefully orchestrated trips.
