Days 1 & 2 | In transit Bali, Indonesia
Depart for Bali, Indonesia. Cross the International Date Line.
Day 3 | Bali, Indonesia
After arriving at the Denpasar Airport, meet your AHI Travel Representative and transfer to the hotel for check in. Settle into your room and spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure. Later, meet and mingle with your fellow travelers at this evening's Welcome Reception at the hotel.
Day 4 | Bali
Begin exploring Bali’s beauty and culture at a local village where you will visit a school and engage with children and teachers. Then, encounter day-to-day life at a housing compound while tasting traditional Balinese snacks. Stroll along pathways amid rice fields while learning about the traditional irrigation system used for thousands of years. Conclude with lunch in the middle of the rice field and an invigorating foot massage.
Day 5 | Bali
Travel inland this morning to visit the Tampak Siring temple’s hot-water spring used for spiritual ceremonies. Continue to the village of Ubud for lunch, followed by a visit to the wonderful Agung Rai Museum of Art. Learn about a music ensemble called the gamelan and try playing various musical instruments. Then, opt to stay at the museum or visit the famous Ubud local market to peruse Balinese arts and crafts, fruits, spices and more.
Day 6 Bali | Singapore
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and some free time before checking out and transferring to the airport for your included flight to Singapore. Upon arrival, transfer and check in to the Hotel. Explore the hotel, have lunch on your own and spend the remainder of the afternoon and evening at leisure.
Day 7 | Singapore
After breakfast, learn about modern-day Singapore and then delight in a panoramic tour of the city’s hidden gems and key attractions, including the iconic Merlion statue and notable sites in the Civic District. Next, visit Thain Hock Keng, Japan's oldest Hokkien temple, and savor some of Singapore's popular dishes at lunch. Then, gain insight into multicultural Singapore while exploring a Malay enclave, Chinatown's shophouses and Little India's exotic flower and spice markets.
Day 8 | Singapore
Singapore’s Peranakan people are locally born of Chinese and Malay heritage. Visit a Peranakan enclave to encounter unique aspects of this culture, including a family business to learn about the history and preparation of traditional pineapple tarts, kueh chang, and a delicious tasting. Later today, tour the Gardens by the Bay, Singapore's landmark floral oasis of garden artistry. See the iconic Supertrees, comprised of over 150,000 plants, and spend time in Cloud Forest and the Flower Dome, the largest glass greenhouse in the world.
Day 9 Singapore | Bangkok, Thailand
After breakfast, transfer to the Singapore airport and fly to Bangkok, Thailand. Upon arrival, transfer and check in to the hotel. After a lecture about the history and culture of Thailand, embark on an evening cruise along the Chao Phraya River. Relax aboard a converted rice barge and savor a dinner of traditional and international dishes with drinks. Enjoy your first look at a vibrant, illuminated Bangkok!
Day 10 | Bangkok
Discover more of effervescent Bangkok today! Discuss Thailand’s history and culture, then encounter daily river life on a cruise along Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River and Thornbury Canals. Disembark to witness the glories of the Grand Palace and the sacred Emerald Buddha temple, followed by a tuk-tuk ride to Wat Po to see the 160-foot reclining Buddha statue. Cap off your excursion with a fusion of old and new recipes over lunch at the landmark Blue Elephant restaurant.
Day 11 | Ayutthaya
Elegant pavilions and ornamental ponds await during a visit to Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, a summer residence for the kings of Thailand. Continue to Ayutthaya to marvel at the magnificent ruins and artifacts of Thailand's ancient capital, with a history spanning more than four centuries! On your return to Bangkok, take a leisurely cruise along the Chao Phraya River once again to watch daily river life unfold while enjoying lunch.
Day 12 | Siem Reap, Cambodia
This morning, fly to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Arrive, transfer to the hotel, check in to the hotel and enjoy lunch before beginning a tuk-tuk tour of this dynamic city known for its kind locals. Admire the French Colonial architecture and experience the city’s cultural scene while watching demonstrations by local artisans at an arts and dance center. Back at the hotel, a local expert shares highlights of the spectacular Temples of Angkor that you will see tomorrow.
Day 13 |Siem Reap
Today, you’ll discover the breathtaking ancient temple of Angkor Wat, the 12th-century crown jewel of the Angkor Archeological Park. Immerse yourself in a long-forgotten world as you marvel at the symbolic, intricately carved asparas and a gallery of bas-relief murals. Later, test your culinary skills while making rice noodles with a local family. This evening, ride a tuk-tuk to delight in an acrobatic Cambodian circus featuring captivating choreography, hypnotic color, folk music and Cambodian stories.
Day 14 | Siem Reap
Journey deeper into history at the ancient walled city of Angkor Thom to witness the imposing Bayon Temple's 54 towers and marvelous carvings of 200 smiling faces. Then, be awed by the jungle-claimed paths and temples of Ta Prohm, overtaken by massive kapok tree roots, and admire exquisite Apsara carvings at Thommanon, a notable example of grand Khmer temple architecture. This evening, toast your epic adventure at a Farewell Dinner and Khmer classical dance performance.
Days 15 & 16 | Depart for gateway city | Arrive home
Begin your journey home after an adventure filled with inspiring moments, unforgettable discoveries and remarkable history. Transfer to the airport for your return flights home. Depending on individual flight itineraries, some passengers will arrive in North America today, and others will arrive tomorrow.
