Pfc. Hamilton served with Section 510, U.S. Ambulance Service. He is buried at Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery, Romagne, France, Plot A Row 11 Grave 25. He was awarded the French Croix de Guerre. The village of Vacherainville, France, was changed to Poste Hamilton in his honor.
