Lt. Grant served with the 334th Bomb Squadron, 95th Bomb Group, Heavy, as a bombardier. He was on a Navigator B-17F, named Ruthless. He was killed when his plane hit a hill. The plane was four miles off course as the crew was on its way to Scotland for rest and relaxation. Lt. Grant is buried at Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, England, Plot D Row 1 Grave 15.
