Captain Cisco graduated from the Tuskegee Institute with class SE-43-D, April 29, 1943. Arnold went on to Italy as a flight leader. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, Oak Leaf Cluster, Victory Service Medal, Service Lapel Button, American Campaign Medal, and the European-African Middle Eastern Theater Medal. He was killed on runway 16 at Walterboro Army Air Field, Walterboro, South Carolina. He was taxiing to the assigned taxi way when an air traffic controller allowed another aircraft to land on the same runway, who overran Captain Cisco’s airplane, killing him in the cockpit. He is buried at City Cemetery, Alton, Illinois.
