Major Conde served with the 46th Field Artillery Battalion, 5th Infantry Division. He was killed in action during the Battle of the Bulge. He is buried at Luxembourg American Cemetery, Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, Plot G Row 5 Grave 4. He was awarded the Purple Heart. There is also a memorial stone at East Batavia Cemetery, Batavia, Illinois.
