Lt. George “G.E.” Cisco enlisted in the 761st Tank Battalion and after a short time enlisted in the Tuskegee Institute, where he graduated with class SE-44-E, May 23, 1944. George was killed in a bomber accident when his aircraft hit electrical wires in a rain storm and burned. George was in training at Walterboro, South Carolina, for an overseas assignment at the time of his death. Younger brother Arnold Wilson Cisco is also listed in this Gold Star Veterans’ Memorial, having also been killed in an aircraft accident at Walterboro, South Carolina.
