Lt. Latham was killed in action with the 6th Marine Division on Okinawa. He was commissioned at Quantico, Virginia, and went overseas in December, 1943. He is buried at Manila American Cemetery, Plot J Row 4 Grave 10 at Manila, Philippines. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
