Lt. Albright died in the crash of a Navy transport plane near Ninh Thuan, South Vietnam in which 24 other military men also were killed. He was a disbursing officer returning to Saigon after completing a pay detail when the plane on which he was a passenger was shot down by enemy gunfire. Lt. Albright was a career naval supply officer and scheduled to return to the United States in May at the conclusion of a year’s service in the Far East. Lt. Albright had served aboard destroyers in the Pacific, Atlantic and Mediterranean and was at the Defense General Supply Center in Richmond, Virginia, serving for a time as aide to the commander before leaving for Vietnam.
