PFC Davies served with I Company, 3rd Battalion, 378th Infantry Regiment, 95th Infantry Division. He was killed in action at the Bridge of the Savage when the Germans blew up the bridge as his company attempted to seize it. Many members of the Company were killed. Pfc Davies is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, St. Avold, France, Plot B Row 17 Grave 51. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
