Captain Hamilton served with the 533rd Bomber Squadron, 381st Bomber Group, Heavy. He was a former Air Force instructor and B-17 pilot, Missing in Action over the North Sea after a mission over Germany on June, 1943. He was declared dead on June 25, 1944. Captain Hamilton is listed as Missing in Action or Buried at Sea on the Tablets of the Missing at Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, England. He was awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart.
