Private Hicks served with the 413rd Infantry Regiment, 104th Infantry Division. He was killed in the attack to take Zundert, Holland. Pvt. Hicks is buried at Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Henri-Chapelle, Belgium, Plot B Row 4 Grave 6. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
