Lt. Glickfeld enlisted January 17, 1942, in New Jersey, and served at Morrison Field West, Florida, as an Aviation Cadet. He then became a pilot in a P-39N while stationed at Oakland Municipal Airport. His plane went down into the San Francisco Bay at San Mateo, California.
