Sergeant Harris served with the 703rd Bomber Squadron, 445th Bomber Group, Heavy. He was a tail gunner on a B-24 lost over Germany. Sergeant Harris is buried at Plot F Row 9 Grave 9 at Lorraine American Cemetery, St. Avold, France. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
