Fighting Illini golfers to compete in U.S. Open
(Photo courtesy of Fighting Illini Athletics) Two Fighting Illini golfers earned spots in the 2016 U.S. Open field this week: Charlie Danielson, ’16 BUS, and student-athlete Nick Hardy.
Hardy, a sophomore at the University of Illinois, shot 6-under par through 36 holes at Springfield Country Club in Springfield, Ohio, to earn medalist honors and qualify for his second consecutive U.S. Open.
Danielson finished fourth overall, defeating Tony Finau in a playoff for the final spot in the U.S. Open field.
