Illinois names inaugural dean of the Carle Illinois College of Medicine
(Photo courtesy of WFBH Photography) King Li, M.D., MBA, senior associate dean for clinical and translational research at Wake Forest University and deputy director of its comprehensive cancer center, will become the inaugural dean and chief academic officer of the Carle Illinois College of Medicine effective Oct. 1. A renowned researcher, educator, inventor and clinician in molecular imaging and radiology, Dr. Li holds 16 patents (with another six pending). The Carle Illinois College of Medicine is the first college of medicine in the nation specifically designed at the intersection of engineering and medicine. It is expected to accept its first class of students in 2018.
