University of Illinois System names new executive vice president

Barbara J. Wilson has been named executive vice president and vice president for academic affairs of the three-university U of I System, pending approval by the Board of Trustees. In this role, she will serve as second-in-command to U of I System President Timothy Killeen, overseeing the institution’s academic and budgetary operations. Wilson also will collaborate with chancellors, provosts, faculty and academic staff on educational and student programs.

Wilson, a faculty member and administrator at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign since 2000, currently serves as interim chancellor for that campus.
