The University of Illinois Alumni Association and Fighting Illini fans across the country are saddened to learn of the passing of legendary Illinois Head Basketball Coach Lou Henson. During his 21 years at Illinois (1975–96), Henson accumulated 423 of his career total 779 wins, making him the most successful coach in Orange and Blue record books. His record currently ranks 33rd all-time for college basketball. Henson was elected to the Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame in 2015 and has the playing court named in his honor at U of I’s State Farm Center.
