“I”s on the World: South American Way

Oh, the places we go … University of Illinois alumni are globetrotters who travel near and far, but never forget their Alma Mater!

The globe-trotting Williams family craves action. On a recent trip to Peru, they climbed to the top of Machu Picchu Mountain, scaled the face of a 1,300-foot cliff to zipline back to the base and sandboarded on the largest dunes in South America.

“Illini gear is always on the list of things to pack,” says Chris Williams, ’88 BUS, MBA ’93, of their trips to Africa, Asia, Europe and South America. Also sporting “I” wear are Williams’ daughters Lauren, ’17, and Katherine, a U of I sophomore, as well as wife Tammara and son Sam.
