Pvt. Beckley served as a combat engineer in the 7th Army, 328nd Engineer Combat Battalion, 103rd Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action in France. He is buried at Epinal American Cemetery, Epinal, France, at Plot A Row 15 Grave 13. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
