Gene Arthur Anderson
World War II
Lt. Anderson was a P-38 pilot, missing in action on a mission over the Negros Islands since November 4, 1944, and declared dead a year later. He was commissioned in October, 1943, and went overseas the following January, stationed 6 months at Gaudalcanal and his last 3 months at New Guinea. At the time of his death he had been recommended for a captaincy. He earned the Air Medal and Purple Heart.
